Spring 2008 Best of the Midwest Tournament
This tournament has traditionally been one of the premier youth tournaments in the USA. Annually about 500 teams participate with teams coming from throughout the Midwest and USYSA Region II, as well as occasional teams from across the country. There are both Boys and Girls Divisions with multiple flights at each age group. This tournament is hosted at the Hallmark Convention and Sports Complex in Hebron , Indiana on some of the premier fields in the Midwest.
The Spring 2008 Best of the Midwest Tournament is open to clubs registered with USYSA, US Club Soccer, and Super Y-League.
  1. Must declare a maximum of 12 players for 6v6 (U9-U10); 14 players for 8v8 (U11); 18 players for 11v11 (U12-U16); 22 players for 11v11 (U17-U19) roster for tournament (identify on tournament roster form)
  2. Indiana Medical Release forms MUST be filled out
  3. If traveling with US CLUB cards - you do not need a travel permit
  4. If traveling with USYSA cards you must have a travel permit for clubs outside of Indiana
  5. There will be a special U10 division playing by U11 rules for those wishing to play 8v8 with a maximum roster size of 14 players.  USYS teams from the state of Indiana can NOT participate in this special division.  Please notate in comment section of your application if you so choose to participate in this division.
  6. There will be a special U12 division playing 8v8 for those wishing to do so.  All others will be placed in 11v11 with a maximum roster size of 18 players.  USYS teams from the state of Indiana can participate in either division. 
 
Dates
  1. May 23-26, 2008. Only local teams will be scheduled to play on Friday, May 23, 2008.
  2. Application and fee must be received in the Magic Office by April 13, 2008 to be considered.
  3. Acceptance notification on the web April 13, 2008.
  4. Book hotel reservations conveniently and securely through the Lake County CVB Housing .
  5. Bracket information available on the web April 29, 2008.
  6. Schedules available on the web as early as May 13 and no later than May 20.
 
Requirements for ALL Teams Participating
  1. Apply on-line. (No faxed, paper, or email copies will be accepted.)  If you have problems with the on-line application form, please contact the registrar.
  2. Submit payment prior to the application deadline.
  3. Make all special requests on the application form (e.g. coaching conflicts, etc.)
  4. Acceptance will be based only on the information submitted on your application and is subject to verification.
  5. No refunds once your team has been accepted into the tournament.
  6. Each team manager, or coach, is expected to have read and completed the "Manager Check List".
  7. Each team manager and coach should read the tournament rules and be familiar with them.
  8. Register in person on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 1650 East 181st Avenue , in Hebron , IN 46341 from 4:00-9:00 PM.
  9. To avoid lines and Friday drive you can pre-register.
